FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—The University of Idaho wrapped up completion at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field West Regional on Saturday from the University of Arkansas’s John McDonnell Track.

Idaho jumper Arphaxad Carroll began the day for Idaho in the men’s triple jump. The freshman placed ninth in the first flight of jumpers. His best jump came on his third and final attempt. He launched a distance of 14.59m (47-10.5) in his first NCAA competition.

In the women’s 5000m, Western Athletic Conference champion Hannah Kiser finished ninth in the first flight of runners. Kiser led the race for the first nine laps, before being overtaken by Texas’s Marielle Hall. Kiser finished 20th overall with a time of 16:36.67.

Matt Sullivan will be the lone Idaho representative at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Sullivan will compete in the pole vault portion of the meet that is set to start June 11 in Eugene, Ore. Sullivan qualified on Thursday, finishing eighth with a final clearance of 5.26m (17-3).
