MOSCOW, Idaho—Idaho sprinter Ben Ayesu-Attah was one of 35 selected to compete for Team Canada at the North America, Central America and Caribbean Under-23 Championships earlier this month.

Ayesu-Attah, a native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, ran in the men’s 400m and anchored the 4x400m relay. He ran a time of 47.10 to qualify fifth in the 400m prelims. In the final heat he trimmed his time to 47.06 to finish fourth behind U.S. sprinter Vernon Norwood (LSU).

As the anchor in the 4x400 relay, Ayesu-Attah clinched the silver medal for Canada. His team ran a total time of 3:08.78 to finish behind the first-place Americans with a time of 3:04.34.

More than 500 athletes ages 20, 21 and 22 competed at Hillside Stadium on the campus of Thompson Rivers University in the 8th edition of the event.
