HENDERSON, Nev. - The University of Idaho men's golf team climbed one position to finish fourth at the Western Athletic Conference Golf Championship Tournament.
With seniors David Nuhn and Brad Tensen leading the way, Idaho fired a closing round 300 during a day that saw scores climb across the leaderboard. Idaho's cumulative 875 for 54 holes put the Vandals behind New Mexico State (851), Nevada (858) and San Jose State (860).
Nuhn climbed into the top 10 to finish eighth with a 215 after firing a 74 in his final collegiate round. Tensen matched his 74 and finished in a tie for 12th at 218 for the tournament. Freshman Matt Rawitzer provided the third top-15 effort with a 219 and a tie for 14th. Sophomores Jarred Bossio (223 for 24th) and Stefan Richardson (229 for tie for 31st) rounded out the Vandal effort.
"We played fairly well today," coach Jon Reehoorn said. "We gave away some shots at the end but we passed Fresno State and finished in the top half of the conference for the third year in a row.
"I'm sad to see Brad and David graduate. I'm happy for them for the way they finished today. They've meant a lot in helping me get this program going in the right direction."
