The University of Idaho men's basketball team kicks off the 2009-10 season with its first official practice Friday at 5 p.m.
Although practices are closed to the public, the Vandals have scheduled various events for their fans to see them in action before they tip off the regular season.
The Vandals will take their show on the road for a scrimmage at Coeur d'Alene Oct. 27. Idaho will play a 20-minute intrasquad scrimmage at Christianson Gym on the North Idaho College campus at 7 p.m.
The Vandals will then hold the "Silver and Gold Sneak Peek" Oct. 30 as part of Idaho's Homecoming festivities. The intrasquad scrimmage will take place at Memorial Gym and will consist of two 10-minute quarters.
Idaho wraps up its preseason with an exhibition contest vs. Saint Martin's University Friday, Nov. 6. The Vandals will take on the Saints at Memorial Gym at 8:05 p.m.
The Vandals open the 2009-10 regular season on the road at Utah Nov. 13. Idaho takes on Sacramento State in its home opener at Memorial Gym Nov. 24 at 7:05 p.m.
