MOSCOW, Idaho – Vandal hoops and head coach Don Verlin are back at it again, signing talented guard Jahlil Nails to a National Letter of Intent.

Currently with Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas, Nails will be a junior, athletically, when he arrives on campus next fall.

"Jahlil is one of the better shooters in the country at all levels.  And he has a high basketball IQ.  So he understands where to be and when to be there.  He opens up the floor for other players because opponents have to account for him on every possession.  He works on his game, so I? am convinced his best basketball is still ahead of him." – Michael Landers, head coach Navarro Junior College

Nails, a 6-5, 185 lbs. guard, began his collegiate career with Central Connecticut State, a member of the Northeast Conference.  There, he averaged 6.7 points per game, appearing in 27 contests and making 12 starts.  Nails picked up his game in conference play, averaging 8.3 points per contest while shooting nearly 47 percent from beyond the arc.

He then transferred to New Mexico Junior College, where he redshirted the 2016-17 season.

Prior to CCSU, Nails played for Columbia High School in East Greenbush, N.Y.  He twice earned All-State honors from the NYSSWA and set his Columbia's scoring record as a senior.  As a junior he was named the Class AA Suburban Council Most Valuable Player.  Nails was recognized for his accomplishments on the court numerous times, including three All-Capital District selections, a Channel 13 All-Star selection, a Sectionals All-Tournament Team nod and First Team All-Area awards from the Albany Times Union and the Troy Record.
