MOSCOW, Idaho - Got creativity? The University of Idaho invites designs for the 2010-11 Vandal Game Day T-shirt, with the winning design destined to be a prominent part of Vandal athletic events.
The contest, sponsored by the university's Student Alumni Relations Board and Department of Athletics, welcomes design submissions from Vandals, supporters and fans between now and July 9 that will become the next big grassroots promotional piece for the 2010-11 season: game day shirts.
"This is a chance for us to tap the creativity of the Vandal Nation and engage our boosters, university community, alumni and others in a fun way to capture the spirit of game day," said Nick Popplewell, director of athletics marketing at the university. "There's no better way to have your Vandal pride and spirit shown than emblazoned on a T-shirt worn on game days throughout the 2010-11 season."
Up to five top designs will be selected and voted on by a panel of judges representing a cross-section of the university, including students, athletes, faculty, staff, coaches and administrators. The winning Game Day T-shirt design will be printed and promoted as the "Official Vandal Game Day T-shirt," and will be sold in the University of Idaho bookstore.
A complete list of entry guidelines is available online. Among the submission considerations:
- Designs should be tailored to fit on the front of a T-shirt, display the phrase "Vandal Game Day," and use no more than three colors;
- Official Vandal logos and colors are available online from the Idaho Brand Resources Guide, www.uihome.uidaho.edu/uihome/brg/brand-resources-guide.aspx;
- All guidelines should be followed;
- Design submissions not following the guidelines will not be judged; and
- The winning entry becomes the licensed property of the University of Idaho.
Entries must be received by 5 p.m., PT, Friday, July 9, via e-mail: helmke@uidaho.edu; by mail: PO Box 443232, Moscow ID 83844-3232; or in person to the Alumni Relations office, Hays Hall, 1106 Blake Ave. in Moscow. Electronic submissions should be made in PDF format.
